Research Context

The Nanhai No. 1 shipwreck (Southern Song) yielded over 180,000 artifacts, including ceramics from Jingdezhen, Longquan, Dehua, and Cizao kilns. Per the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum, Dehua kiln types include bowls, dishes, jars, boxes, ewers, and vases in qingbai glaze with foliate, chrysanthemum, and lotus-petal decorations. Artifacts are held at the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum, Yangjiang.
