Research Context
Per V&A API (system number O183457): a rare cross-cultural object — a Dehua porcelain bottle (misfired, with moulded prunus blossoms and traces of gilding) fitted with later engraved Iranian brass mount. Purchased from Robert Murdoch Smith in 1876; "Bought in Persia." Evidence that Dehua trade routes extended deep into West Asia. Currently on display in V&A Room 136 (The Curtain Foundation Gallery), Case 10.
