Direct evidence of European imitation of Dehua Blanc de Chine. Per Rijksmuseum records, this piece is possibly from Ansbach, Bavaria (not Delft as previously assumed). European potters imitated Dehua Guanyin figures in earthenware, but material differences resulted in markedly different qualities. Gift of heirs of A. Isaac, Amsterdam, 1955.
