Research Context
Per Met API (objectID 51236): dated late Ming–early Qing, 17th century. Bequest of Mary Clark Thompson, 1923. At over 40 cm, this is the largest Dehua Guanyin in the Met collection. The warm ivory glaze is consistent with low Fe₂O₃ content characteristic of late Ming Dehua formulations. 6 high-resolution public domain images available.
